biryani

It is still unbelievable, even for me, to think that I can make Hyderabadi dum biryani. I am not from Hyderabad nor my face reflects anything remotely biryani-like. But I am proud to have successfully made it on a few occasions until now.

I actually learned making it from an amazing (online) chef who takes food very seriously and teaching people how to cook Indian food even more so. He is cute in his own way and likes to call himself the Vah-chef*! Vah can be roughly translated to wow

Making biryani isn’t such a long process but blogging about it is. With all the spices that needs to be covered and explained, this post is the longest one I have done so far. The previous record holder was my post on planking in my main blog.

Two of our old friends were coming for dinner and I thought it would be good to make biryani this time. The lighting being good during the day, I decided to make it earlier and just pretend to them that it was made in the late evening. But they came earlier for a short visit and I was busted. I had to admit that tumblr was taking over my life!
